Celebrating Jewish Heritage Month

For the first time ever, Canadians are able to celebrate Jewish Heritage Month on a national scale.
Spearheaded by Conservative Senator, Linda Frum, Canada adopted the Canadian Jewish Heritage Month Act on March 28, 2018. Previously recognized only in Ontario, this act allows us to reflect upon the hardships that the Jewish community has endured and the outstanding contributions that they have made to Canadian society.
The month of May provides us with an opportunity to remember, celebrate and educate future generations about the inspirational role that Jewish Canadians play in communities across Canada.
I encourage all Canadians to learn more about the history and heritage of the Jewish community, and see how their achievements and successes have contributed to making Canada a stronger nation.
