74th Anniversary of D-Day and the Battle of Normandy

Kevin Waugh, marks the 74th anniversary of D-Day and the Battle of Normandy on Sunday, June 3rd at the annual Decoration Day Service at Woodlawn Cemetery in Saskatoon. The Service Parade begins at 2:30 pm, Service is at 3:00 pm.

74 years ago on June 6th, 1944 the Allies stormed the beaches of Normandy, France on D-Day during the Second World War. Some 14,000 Canadians came ashore at Juno Beach and approximately 450 more parachuted in farther inland. It would only be the beginning of a two and a half months of bitter fighting in the Battle of Normandy.

Today, #CanadaRemembers the sacrifice they made for our country.
